Messing around in the workshop can produce some wonderful hybrid designs. I've often wondered what a compact version of the Woodie would come out like. With a few tweaks and alterations, here's my answer.
Not too small with a useful blade length of 85mm and overall length of 206mm, I think it makes for a good looking bushcraft type knife. Especially when you adopt the attitude that the better your knife skills get the smaller your blade needs to be.
This knife is made from O1 high carbon tool steel at 4mm thicknes. Grind is 27 degrees Scandi and hardness 59hrc. All, in my opinion based on experience, the optimum for the steel.
The handle is stabilised English Yew held in place with brass Loveless Screws and thong tube. There are dark green fibre liners and the knife is presented in a premium oak bark tanned leather scabbard that is wet formed to the knife and oiled.
