I'm not a coat wearer, I don't like the inconvenience of taking them on and off during my busy day going inside and out. Hence our range of shirts that fare just as well in all conditions. This new "shirt" ticks all the boxes for all those out there, like me who just don't do coats. I have however, lent it to other members of our crew to test and they have worn it as their coat, so it is perfectly suitable to be used as a coat or overshirt.
The Yukon Shirt is the natural progression from our Yukon Vest . We have taken a long time developing this garment and in fact the photos are of my test garment that has been worn for six weeks of continuous changes, whilst testing the fabrics and making odd adjustments. We have been through two different collars and four different cuff styles, adjustments to the pattern layout to suit the fabric and more minor details.
The Yukon Shirt is cut like a jacket but in a shirt pattern. The Fabric is Weather proof British Millerain Staywax 10oz drywax canvas sometimes known as "Tin Cloth". It is tough and will require some breaking in and I have found that it gets even more comfortable with use. The Lining is 100% British wool melton at 550gsm All the details such as the pocket flaps, cuffs and collar stand are lined in soft melton. it has a straight cut hem and a traditional collar. The cuffs are adjustable with antique brass snap fastener closures, the same are used for the twin chest pockets and front closure. The left pocket proudly carries our Bison Bushcraft leather label.
This Shirt should last a life time and will definitely gain plenty of character with age and use.
These shirts are made to order with a six to eight week wait.
