1948 Original Equipment Quartermaster Knife

Probably one of the finest knives you could wish to own! This handcrafted knife has been made in England exclusively for 1948 Original Equipment by Master Craftsman Roger Harrington. Roger designed this knife taking inspiration from those knives found in post war Britain. It follows the lines of American GI Quartermaster knives and those of our own home grown Boy Scout knives that were made in Sheffield. No two knives are the same and all are made with love and attention to detail by Roger; each knife proudly carries his signature and the 1948 Original Equipment logo. We make no apology on price - this is an exceptional item for Collectors or for use by an appreciative Outdoorsman. It is handmade by a Master Craftsman and by holding it, the true value is manifest. Features of this knife include:-
The blade steel is 12c27 Sandvik tool steel hardened and tempered to 59hrc to give edge retention and yet the ability to sharpen with ease.

The guard and pommel are of 304 stainless steel to resist tarnishing and corrosion.
The handle is a stacked layer of cherry wood, leather and vulcanised fibre and if kept oiled will gain more and more character with use, adding to the individuality of each knife.

The scabbards are made from premium grade, vegetable tanned, cow hide. Once again these are individually hand made to reflect the designs of the period. The knife sits a little deeper in the scabbard keeping it very secure and has a fold over type belt loop.
